Product Update: Get Paid by Card, Straight From the Invoice

Spotbookr Invoicing can now take card payments through Stripe. Connect your own Stripe account once, and every invoice you send has a Pay by card button.

How it works

  1. In Invoicing, open Products and settings and choose Connect Stripe.
  2. Sign in to your Stripe account, or create one, and tell Stripe which bank account your money should go to.
  3. Stripe sends you back to Spotbookr, and the box shows Connected.
  4. Send invoices as usual. Your customer's link now has a Pay by card button.

When a customer pays, the invoice marks itself as paid, or part-paid, without anyone recording it by hand.

The money goes straight to you

Payments are made on your own Stripe account. The money goes directly from your customer to you. It never passes through Spotbookr, and card details are entered on Stripe's secure page, so they never reach our servers.

What it costs

  • Stripe charges its usual processing fee on each payment.
  • Spotbookr adds 0.5% + $0.25 per card payment.
  • Invoices paid any other way, such as bank transfer, check or cash, cost nothing extra.

Also new in Invoicing

Alongside card payments, Invoicing has grown in several ways:

  • Estimates that become invoices. Send a priced estimate your customer accepts online. The accepted estimate becomes the invoice automatically, with the same lines and customer.
  • Signed acceptance. On the Founder Starter Kit and Enterprise, your customer signs the estimate to accept it, and both of you get a signed copy with a certificate anyone can verify.
  • Saved products and prices. Save what you sell once, with its standard price, unit and description, and pick it on any invoice or estimate.
  • Discounts. Take a percentage off a single line, or a percentage or amount off the whole document.
  • Items with no tax. Mark a product, or a single line, as not taxed. Tax is worked out on the rest, after discounts.
  • Your own look. Add your logo, your company details, a note for every invoice and a footer. They appear on the customer's page and on the PDF.
  • Private memos. Keep a note on an invoice that only your team can see.
