Every organisation that buys software eventually asks the same question: where will this run, and who is responsible for it? For a start-up choosing its first tools the answer may not matter much. For a public agency or an established company it matters a great deal. They have a cloud provider they have already approved, security reviews they have already passed, and licences they are already paying for. A new system that ignores all of that creates work before it delivers any.

Spotbookr builds and operates data systems for consumers, businesses and government, and from the beginning we have built them on established cloud platforms. Today we are sharing where that work has brought us: Spotbookr is a member of the AWS Partner Network and of Microsoft's cloud partner program.

The AWS Partner Network

The AWS Partner Network is the global partner program of Amazon Web Services. As a member, Spotbookr designs and deploys systems on AWS infrastructure, including:

  • Design and deployment on AWS
  • Hosting in the AWS region a client's policies require
  • Managed databases, storage and compute

Microsoft's cloud partner program

Spotbookr is also a member of Microsoft's cloud partner program. For clients who run on Microsoft, that means:

  • Design and deployment on Microsoft Azure
  • Systems built directly on Azure SQL
  • Sign-in through Microsoft Entra ID, so people use the accounts they already have

Why this matters to the people we build for

Membership of a partner program is not the point in itself. What it reflects is a way of working that we think serves clients better.

Your cloud, your tenancy. Systems can be deployed in a client's own AWS or Azure account, so the data stays under their control.

Cloud, on-premises or hybrid. Information that has to stay on a client's own servers can stay there, while applications run in an approved cloud.

No second set of seat fees. A custom-built system on a platform a client already pays for avoids another vendor's per-seat licences.

Many agencies and enterprises have a preferred cloud, existing licences and security approvals. We build inside that environment instead of asking them to adopt another.

Where it fits in what we do

This matters most for our government systems, which include laboratory information management, GIS-based permitting, incident reporting, licensing and inspections, grants management and public records requests. Public agencies usually have firm requirements about where data lives and who can reach it, and those requirements are far easier to meet on the platform the agency has already approved.

It also sits alongside the other networks we work within. Spotbookr is a member of Adobe's partner program, for documents and electronic signatures, and a partner on Awin and PartnerStack, the affiliate and partnership networks behind Spotsavr and the Spotbookr Media Network.

A note on what this is

To be plain about it: these are partner program memberships. They describe the platforms we build on and the programs we belong to. They are not security certifications, and they do not mean that Amazon or Microsoft endorse or guarantee any particular system. The standards we build to are set out separately on our certifications page.
